If guitars were never invented, then the whole spectrum of popular music, as we know it today, just wouldn’t exist. This film highlights a range of acoustic guitars and their makers.

This 1938 Jumbo by Oahu started life as a Hawaiian model. But the neck was later re profiled, and now it plays superbly as a normal acoustic. Beautiful golden details on the front, and in superb condition. It was listed in the 1938 Oahu catalogue at 98 dollars, a princely sum in those days.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing and hearing these unique guitars. There’s still a few out there under someone’s bed on in an attic, waiting to be rediscovered, re strung and played. After all, that’s what they’re made for. Enjoy.
