Hi. My name is Peter Vogl and this lesson today we’re going to work with track number 2 on the “Let’s Jam” CD. It’s a quick blues in F. Aah, to work with this tool you’re going to need to use 3 different scales.
F minor pentatonic, F major pentatonic and the F Blues scale. Before we go much further, let me suggest that you ahead and print out the licks and the scales from the website so you can have them right in front of you and practice along with that. Okay, lets get started with the F minor pentatonic scale. Here’s F minor pentatonic once again but second position. Now lets try the F blues scale. Here’s lick number 1. Pay special attention to the blues note. Lick number 2 also uses the F minor pentatonic scale except the position and again it uses the blues game. Lick number 3 is pretty standard blues leg. It switches between F minor pentatonic and F major pentatonic.
We’ll that’s our lesson for track number 2 with the quick blues in F. You, know the best players can switch between minor pentatonic, major pentatonic and the blue scale at will.
So go ahead and practice that and look forward to see you next time.
In case you didn’t see the video in part 1 of this series… here it is again.
