Beginner Guitar Lesson: Barre Chords Pt.2

Hi my name is Peter Vogl and in this lesson we are going to have some introductory thoughts on barre chords.

There are some techniques which I can teach that will take you quick results. So go ahead and print out the notation on time and lets get started with the G barre chord. We will start with the G major barre chord. Looks like this. The trick with the barre chord or the definition of the barre chord is the one we have our first finger pressing down a bunch of strings or all of the strings and in this case it is going to be all of them. The real trick to learning how to make barre cords is to place the other fingers down first. So before you place the barre down I want you to put the third finger on the fifth string…fifth fret.
