Welcome to the 37th guitar lesson on KeepingRockAlive, today I am gonna teach you Breaking a Law by Judas Priest. It’s really easy song of the album British steel from 1980. And it’s easy to play, so to start with the intro you play fifth string open. Second fret, third fret open second-third open, second-third and sixth string first, third then open fifth string back to our first fret sixth string third fifth string open then third fret and second fret. You play that two times at the beginning of the song so it should sound like. You play that twice and then go to the verse. Which starts with A power chord then you go to power chord on third and fifth fret on the fifth and fourth strings, third and fifth frets of sixth and fifth strings and back to A power chord you play that twice so the verse should sound like.
Then you go the chorus which starts power chords fifth and fourth strings eighth and tenth fret. Then play that twice to the long pause in between, then you go to power chords eighth and tenth frets on the fifth and sixth strings for long, for long period of time and then back to power chords eighth and tenth on fifth and fourth strings. Then down to A, back to A power chord. So the chorus should sound like.
Then you go to the main riff which starts with a open A string strung for about 15 times then you hit the second string tenth fret and third string nineth fret at the same time. Then you go back to open A for about fourteen times and you hit that same chord twice this second time, so the main riff should sound like. As you play that twice you go back to the verse twice. Then you go back to the chorus. Then after the chorus you go back to main riff. You play that twice before going to the
bridge which starts power chords with the first string in third and fifth frets and now the first and third fret twice. You play that four times, so it should sound like.
Then for the second half of the bridge you play the power chords fifth and fourth strings, fifth and seventh fret up to eight and ten, up to three and five, up to five and seven, eight and ten, ten and twelve. So the second half of the bridge you play that twice so it should sound like. Then you go back to the intro, for eight times. After the eighth time you hit the A power chord and that is the end of the song.
