Playing Acoustic Guitar is not at all easy. Everyone will agree to that. Acoustic Guitar needs different kind of handling and care. Arpeggio Picking is an art you need to master if you dream of playing Acoustic Guitar. In this video though, you can learn basic lessons like C at 9, narrated in comfortable speed and manner.
This is migration of a.. how to play wonderful tonight and I’m going to simplify things as much as I can so that its suitable for beginners to play on Acoustic Guitar. A… we’re going to start by looking at the versed cords and those are going to be just the normal G cord, going to a D. a.. the next cord, you can do a.. C or what I prefer to do is a C at 9. So C at 9 is like if you have your G cord and you collapse everything in one string so its like a miniature version of G, a.. you get C at 9 and its helpful to know that twin D and C at 9, I’m able to keep my third finger as a connector between the cord shapes. Ok so to revise again, we have a G, going to D. Now you have C at 9 and back to D again.
So the next segment will look at how a.. a.. how to play like a basic outline of the melody such you can see a.. how it works with the cords in bringing the.. the sound to life.
So as you can see the melody fits in quite nicely with the cords and a.. for most people playing the song they’re going to be using a.. the technique called a.. Arpeggio Picking where you’re doing individual strings rather than actually strumming in. It is possible to strum it but a.. the Arpeggio Picking tends to seed the feel of the song a lot better. Now a.. I’m not going to attempt to teach you how to Arpeggio picking this video because it’s more about learning how to play the song. A.. if you don’t know how to Arpeggio Pick its better to view other lessons that I done dedicated to learning that technique on the web site or find out if that are.. are on the web and once you know how to Arpeggio Pick, its simply matter of applying the technique to the progressions in the song. So taking a.. a versed preparation where we have C a.. sorry, G, D, C at 9 and back to D. Your Arpeggio Picking will sound something like this.
Ok, to.. to play the full cycle of a.. of the song, the next part is.. its all that’s really required. We’re going to be climbing up to our C at 9 cord with a.. with the lead in line which is basically going from the open 5th string to 2nd fed on the 5th string and then you’d be forming your C at 9 cord. So it would be.
So, let’s take a look at the cords that I was using there. First of all, climbing in, it’s in my C at 9. When you climb up, you should finish with your second finger there on the 3rd fed of the 5th string so that you can form the correct shape with the other fingers around the cord and going up to a D. I should mention this for the sometimes I choose a D suspended 2 or D at 9 a.. which where I have my open 1st string. A… I just take away my 2nd finger from the.. the string there to get that sound. So you have C at 9 into some —prefer D and we have a passing progression from G down to E minor. So what happens is a.. I hit the 6th string, the 4th, the 3rd and the 2nd and I take away my 2nd finger and my 1st finger goes up went for it. Up went string size so it’s now on the 6th string and everything else stays the same and I hit the same string combination and that takes me down to my E minor. So in slow motion…… and we speed it up……. now to finish it we just have back to our C at 9 and D. So lets go through the.. the whole piece now.
