How to read guitar chord maps, charts or patterns Pt.3
The number by the finger in positions indicates which finger to use. When playing a chord for the first time it is often wise to start on a first finger, then the second etc.
For this chord band you should the first finger in the first fret of the b string. The second finger on the second fret of the D string. And the third finger on the third fret of the A string. You should then strung five strings ignoring the bottom E string. At this stage it is worth to point out the similarities, between a chord map and scale map. A scale map can be read in the same way as the chord map, except one major difference. A scale map is played single nodes one at a time.
Where as the chords are strung. Because a scale map is played one node at a time, only the nodes should play or marked. There is therefore no need to cross open strings, which ae not being played.
